This is a picture of three of our livestock guardian dogs. The one pictured at the back left is Blanca and Pepper is pictured to the right of her. Then Sage is the pup pictured center front. Pepper has been placed to a farm in New York State. He has been missed as he was an excellent guardian. Blanca and Pepper come from Kenny Donop of Red Diamond Boers in Llano, TX. We made a trip to Texas in November, 2004 to visit family and pick them up. Both of these dogs were born in 2004, Blanca is about 6 months older than Pepper and she was really diligent in teaching pups how to behave properly upon arrival. The sire of these dogs is a registered Maremma and their dam is an unregistered Maremma. They seem to love the cold climate and will spend their day out in the snow over the warmth in the barn oftentimes. The Maremmas have been excellent guard dogs with an even temperament. They have a close guarding style and are loyal and stay with the herd. |
